The Goffstown School District is now prohibiting students from creating deepfakes, following an incident in which middle school students used AI to generate inappropriate images of female classmates. The School Board waived their usual procedures so they could adopt the policy immediately. Students will be prohibited from creating deepfakes, especially ones involving nudity, sexually explicit content, or any media that causes emotional or physical harm to an individual. Administrators also said they’ll consult with the school’s resource officer to determine if a deepfake violates state law.
