A Belmont man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after a pursuit on the Seacoast ended in an hours long standoff in Durham. Officials say the incident began just after 9:30 Saturday night, when the Strafford Police Department attempted a traffic stop and the driver refused to stop. Police said the driver, identified as 55-year-old Scott Newcomb also refused to get out of the vehicle, prompting a standoff. Newcomb was eventually taken into custody. He faces multiple charges.
