Is Joe Jonas Turning Country?

Within the last year, so many artists have made the switch from their original genre to country music. Whether this is for one song, or switching the entire style like Post Malone, it’s easy to wonder who is next?

Well, today I bring a conspiracy theory of who may be the next one to produce country music, and it’s probably not who you think.

Recently, Rascal Flatts released a song with the Jonas Brothers titled I Dare You. It doesn’t strike me as the most country track I’ve ever heard, because it has a pop feel to it.

Technically, it is country though if Rascal Flatts is releasing it…right? You can be the judge of that.

When this was released it, I thought the collaboration was perfect. The two groups sound great together!

The country flag was raised when Ashley Cooke released a single with Joe Jonas on Friday, titled All I Forgot.

After this, I thought to myself, is this a sign that Joe Jonas will be “going country”? These are two singles within a short period of time.

The icing on the cake, was taking a look at the Jonas Brother’s Instagram when they released a statement about the future of the group.

The group shares that “It’s been 20 years since we started this journey together. To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our mini-van with a couple of guitars and copies of “It’s About Time” CDs, enroute to an afternoon performance at a local mall to play for anyone who would listen.”

The key is “2025 will be the year of music: New Jonas Brothers music. Solo music. Live concert album. And a soundtrack.”

What do you think? This could just be a self-made conspiracy theory, or Joe Jonas may have a country album on the horizon.

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
