Laura’s Alt Headlines – Unruly Customer Gets Struck with Fry Basket and Trash Can

Sometimes, the customer is wrong…

At a Whataburger in Paris, Texas, a man identified as 41-year-old Anthony William Newhuis allegedly became verbally abusive toward staff and was asked to leave.

After departing, shortly later he returned and physically attacked the manager, punching him several times while behind the counter.

In the chaos, another employee reportedly struck the man with a fry basket, and a viral video shows the manager using a trash can to subdue the attacker before forcing him out of the restaurant. Officers later found Newhuis bleeding in the parking lot, arrested him, and charged him with assault causing bodily injury and public intoxication.

While in custody, he also allegedly intentionally flooded the jail cells, leading to an additional criminal mischief charge. No employees were reported seriously injured.
