NASHUA, N.H.- Local Police have issued civil summonses to two leaders of the NH Bridge Brigade for Democracy, citing a state law that prohibits the placement of “any advertising device” within a right-of-way adjacent to state and federal highways, turnpikes and interstates,

New Hampshire Bridge Brigade is a group of volunteers whose stated goal is aimed at “bringing people together, reducing fear, and strengthening democracy.”

Motorists traveling under any of the 25 bridges which span NH highways may have noticed members holding signs ; some as large as bed sheets, others hand-held — and waving as vehicles pass.

The group has announced they are working with the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire to better understand the legalities of the summonses and will continue their demonstrations as scheduled.
