AG says Northfield  Woman shot by Police was armed with knife

NORTHFIELD, N.H.- The Attorney General’s office says Megan Whiting, 27, was shot and killed by police early Monday morning and was armed with knife while in close proximity to a woman who had been injured.

According to an autopsy, Whiting died after being shot multiple times out of the incident in which began after a 911 caller said their girlfriend had been struck by a fire extinguisher in a incident at an apartment on Vine Street.

Once on scene Police say they saw Whitting was armed and near the injured woman and was told numerous times to drop the knife before officers fired their weapon.

As the investigation into the ordeal continues, the Attorney General’s office says they”ll interview the officers involved this week and note one of the officers on site was wearing a body camera.
