MANCHESTER, N.H.- Fire officials say an apartment building on Laurel Street suffered significant damage early Sunday morning.

According to officials a little before 3:45 a.m. crews responded to a call for a fire on a third-floor porch at 172 Laurel Street and once on scene found the porch fully ingulfed.

After sounding a second alarm additional crews responded and the fire was ruled under control a little before 4:15 a.m.

At the moment authorities determined that the fire was accidental and say they believe it was caused by improper disposal of smoking materials.

Damage to the building is estimated at $75,0000, but no injuries were reported.
