CONCORD,N.H.- The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office says the deaths of a mother and son in Dover have been ruled a murder-suicide.

On Wednesday authorities released the autopsy results of Eileen Shevelin, 78, and say she died from asphyxiation with her death being ruled a homicide.

As for Shevelin’s son Thomas Wallace,57, officials say he died from a single gunshot wound to the head and killed his mother before taking his own life sometime between Monday and Tuesday.

Police ended up discovering the pair’s bodies during a follow-up to a welfare check Tuesday.
