From Manchester, NH Police Dept.:
On May 30, 2020 about 800 people participated in an organized Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Manchester. The group gathered at Veterans Park around 10 am and marched peacefully through the city. They then returned to the park. The demonstration was peaceful and those in attendance were very respectful of others, as well as police. There were no arrests made.
After the protest a group of more than 100 people marched to the Manchester Police Department. Around 1:30 a truck drove up and the occupants and the protestors had a verbal altercation. In a nearby parking lot one of the occupants of the truck got out and displayed a gun. Manchester Police Officers took that individual and one other into custody. The individuals are being booked and their identities will be released a little later on.
As of 2:30 pm some people are still gathered near the Police Department at 405 Valley St. and while the agency is still open, the building is closed for the safety of our officers and employees.
