KEENE, N.H.- A man charged with illegally possessing a firearm and obstructing a federal investigation who admits that he warned suspected traffickers has pleaded guilty.

On Tuesday Douglas Mulligan entered the plea and also admitted he warned suspects under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives while working at American Trikes & Motorsports by leaving notes on the cars of suspected traffickers which read: “ATF is watching you.”

Authorities say surveillance footage showed the 80-year-old Mulligan not only had a firearm on him while working at the store but also purchased one from a customer and he ignored warnings about working at the store and possessing a weapon after he was convicted back in 1976 of receiving a stolen motor vehicle. As authorities claim Mulligan used his position to avoid restrictions and interfered with the investigation.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for July 7, as Mulligan is facing up to 15 years in prison and fine of up to $250,000.
