Kenny Chesney officially announced his return to America’s stadiums Tuesday morning, September 15, and there’s really only one appropriate place for the tour to end.
Gillette Stadium.
Chesney’s new Original Vibe Room Tour 2027 will wrap up in Foxborough on Saturday, August 28, 2027.
And Kenny isn’t coming alone.
Eric Church is joining him.
So is Sheryl Crow.
And singer-songwriter Greylan James rounds out the announced lineup.
That’s a pretty ridiculous Saturday night in Foxborough.
The tour marks Kenny’s return to the kind of massive stadium shows that helped turn No Shoes Nation into something closer to a traveling summer community than a normal concert audience.
Chesney has spent the last two years doing something completely different.
Vegas.
His immersive Sphere residency sold nearly 400,000 tickets over two years, giving Kenny a chance to play with the technology and enormous visual possibilities inside one of the world’s most unusual concert venues.
Apparently he’s ready for the parking lots again.
The Original Vibe Room Tour begins April 24 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and runs through the summer before arriving in New England for the finale.
And Foxborough isn’t simply another tour stop for Kenny.
At this point, Gillette Stadium is practically his summer house.
Chesney has repeatedly talked about the relationship he’s developed with New England fans, and Gillette has become one of the defining venues of his touring career.
That’s why he keeps coming back.
And that’s why he keeps finishing tours here.
There’s also a great reunion built into the 2027 lineup.
Eric Church previously toured with Kenny on the 2013 No Shoes Nation Tour.
A lot has happened since then.
Eric went from rising star to arena headliner.
He won CMA Entertainer of the Year.
He built one of country’s most devoted fan bases.
Now he’s getting back together with the guy whose stadium tour he played 14 years earlier.
Sheryl Crow makes the bill even more interesting.
She’s spent decades floating comfortably between rock, pop, Americana and country, and her catalog—“Everyday Is a Winding Road,” “Soak Up the Sun,” “If It Makes You Happy”—feels pretty much engineered for an outdoor stadium in August.
Then there’s Greylan James.
He’s the Nashville songwriter who helped write Kenny’s “Happy Does” and the title track from his BORN album.
So you’ve essentially got three generations of artists tied into different parts of Kenny’s career sharing the same stage.
Chesney says the goal is simple: a summer filled with music and songs people have “lived their lives to.”
If you’ve ever been inside Gillette when 60,000 people start singing “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” you know exactly what he means.
