Man steals firetruck in Dalton while crews battle a fire at his home

DALTON, N.H.-

Firefighters in Dalton and Littleton battled a fire early Tuesday morning. Crews responded to Faraway Road in Dalton around 3AM to find the building heavily involved.

As crews began working on the fire a man, later identified as a resident of the burning building, sole a fire truck and drove it into other emergency vehicles and toward firefighters at the scene.

Police were able to apprehend the man, who’s identity has not yet been released. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation

The circumstances surrounding the fire, theft and subsequent actions remain under investigation.
