MANCHESTER, N.H.- Voters across the Granite state made their way to the polls Tuesday and brought about a blue wave giving Democratics a large number of victories in all the major races with one notable exception.

In the race for US Senate Chris Pappas beat out John E. Sununu and will succeed Sen. Jeannie Shaheen when her term expires.

The race for New Hampshire 1st Congressional District ended up going to political newcomer Stephaine Shaheen, after voters selected her over businessman Anthony DiLorenzo and voters in the 2nd Congressional district decided to extend Maggie Goodlanders time in Washington instead of Lilly Tang Williams.

Democratics also ended up winning veto-proof majorities in both the House and Senate, however Gov. Kelly Ayotte managed beat her Democratic opponent Cindi Warmington in the only substantial Republican victory.
