NEW LONDON, N.H.- New London Firefighters responded Monday night around 10 p.m. to a house fire at 364 Elkins Road

Upon arrival crews observed smoldering materials on the rear portion of the roof.

Firefighters quickly entered the residence and safely removed all occupants. Officials note that mutual aid was requested from Wilmot, Sutton, Sunapee, and Springfield.

According to officials, the preliminary cause appears to have been an electric roof heat strip designed to help prevent ice dams.

No injuries were reported.  Firefighters were able to clear the scene around midnight.
