Several animals perish in a fire in Campton

CAMPTON N.H. –Several communities responded Thursday afternoon to a fire on Turnpike Road.

Upon arrival firefighters learned all of the residents were evacuated safely.  However, several animals remained inside.

Two cats and one dog perished in the fire. Another dog is currently being treated at an area veterinary hospital.  No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation
