WINDHAM, N.H. –  The Windham Select Board this week voted to impose a mandatory ban on outdoor lawn watering that takes effective on Sunday May 17, 2026, and remain in place until rescinded or modified.

According to officials, the restrictions are needed due to the current drought conditions.

The water restrictions in Windham will be imposed and apply to all residential and commercial private well owners, with limited exceptions.

Town officials note that waivers may be granted by a majority vote of the Board for good cause.

Requests for a waiver should be made in writing or via email.
