Jury Reaches Verdict in Karen Read Murder Trial

The jury in Karen Read’s retrial  reached a verdict of Not Guilty on all other charges including murder today June 18, 2025. Read was found guilty of an OUI charge.

After months of courtroom drama, expert testimony, and national headlines, a jury has officially reached a verdict in the highly watched Karen Read murder trial.

Read, a former financial analyst from Massachusetts, was accused of second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident in the 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe.

The case has captivated the public due to allegations of police coverups, forensic controversy, and an alleged attempt to frame Read for a crime she says she didn’t commit. Her defense argues that O’Keefe died from injuries sustained at a house party—not from being struck by her SUV.

This trial has become more than just a legal case—it’s sparked nationwide debate over justice, trust in law enforcement, and media coverage.
