New Shows, No Plans: My Current Binge-Watch Obsessions
Posted on by jtyler
It’s that time of year where it’s dark at 4:30, everyone’s tired, and honestly… I just want something good to watch. So if you’re in full couch-and-blanket mode, here are a few shows I’m loving right now — new, returning, and one music must-watch you can’t skip.
Dept. Q on Netflix is dark, smart, and binge-able in the best way. It’s a gritty crime drama based on the popular book series, following a detective working cold cases with a misfit team. It’s moody, intense, and one of those “okay one more episode” situations that suddenly turns into midnight.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf on Prime Video — and yes, I’m biased — but anything starring Riggins from Friday Night Lights automatically has my attention. This one’s a prequel to The Terminal List and dives into the origin story of Ben Edwards. It’s action-packed, emotional, and very easy to get sucked into.
The Diplomat on Netflix is still a favorite. Seasons 1 and 2 were stronger than season 3 (in my opinion), but it’s still smart, intense, and binge-worthy with high-stakes political drama.https://www.netflix.com/title/81288983
The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix is coming back with a new season, which I’m very excited about. Legal drama, good pacing, and perfect “watch two episodes before bed” energy. Look for the Season 5 on February 6th! https://www.netflix.com/title/81303831
Olivia and Liam for a seventh year in a row topped the list of names for babies born in the United States in 2025. The Social Security Administration annually tracks the names given to girls and boys in each state, with lists dating back to 1880.
The bitter public feud between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni may outlive their court fight after all. Three days after announcing a settlement of the lawsuit brought by Lively over the 2024 film "It Ends With Us," her lawyers put out a statement Thursday calling the deal a "resounding victory."
The BBC is hosting a party for David Attenborough at the Royal Albert Hall. Cinemas are playing his nature films. Friends have spent weeks lavishing praise on the man and his work.
